Jonathon
Mays triumphed as outright winner of the Coinslot 2000 Golf
Tournament, earning him the Stephen Whatmore Memorial Trophy
with a two-day Stableford points score of 74.
But Anne Smith, who, with husband Derek runs
an arcade in Cleethorpes, achieved a magnificent second day
score of 40. That won her the first place overall on the Hotchkin,
the harder of the two courses. It was the first time in the
tournament's 24-year history that a lady had won such a prize.
Anne also completed her hat trick of wins in the ladies' competition
- moving up from third after day one thanks to her superb performance
on the second day.
Figures
from across the industry enjoyed two days at Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire,
in what proved to be a highly successful and enjoyable 24th
annual Coinslot tournament.
