Cosmic
Video Amusements' TournaChamp™ concept has been given
a fresh twist that is aimed at giving the operator another degree
of flexibility. The 'operator-run tournament' allows the client
to run a separate competition, at no extra cost, during national
competitions.
Explained the firm's Terry Farr: "for example if the customers
in a particular pub don't like the game that's currently being
used during a national tournament, the operator can change to
a new one. All he does is go to his personal TournaChamp™
webpage, click on a new game and the change to a new tournament
happens remotely. |
"There
is no additional cost to the operator and the game can be run
in parallel to the official tournament. Effectively, it means
that there is no downtime on the games." Meanwhile, says
Farr, the TournaChamp™ system continues to attract a more
female orientated player base. The last national tournament
was won by a woman who recently collected the top prize of £1,000.
"We definitely are seeing an increase in the amount of
female players," added Farr. "Of course this latest
champion is only the third woman ever to grab the top prize.
It's nice to see, though, that they're not only playing but
winning as well." |
