The
seventh annual London & Home Counties Region Golf day was
set within the several hundred acres of parkland that is Moor
Park in Hertfordshire. The prestigious grade 1 listed mansion
club house has hosted the event previously and is certainly
one of the best golf back drops available anywhere in the UK.
The whole day ran smoothly due to the able organisation of Steve
Hawkins and his Essex Leisure team, who raised in excess of
£7,000 for the BACTA charities …well done Steve.
The evening’s entertainment consisted of sumptuous fayre,
raffle and auction, with many generous donations met by some
generous bidding and support from the moistened audience.
The prize giving was eagerly awaited with Mike Clokie of E-Service,
receiving the prize for lowest individual score (+1) and the
mighty team prize won by the Cosmic Video Amusements Team, consisting
of CVA Captain Jonathan Mays, GameGrid’s Martin Savage,
Gaiety Amusements Andrew Bailey and the inimitable Jimmy Botton
from The Pleasure Beach in Skegness. “We have had nothing
but fun all day long” voiced Mays” and with our
mixture of handicaps, including Jimmy’s golf cart driving
ability, we are over the moon at winning….it’s been
a great day!”
